Zoo Crew 2009-2010

This year for my new classroom--I have chosen to do a Zoo Safari Theme...Miss Foley's Zoo Crew!  How fun is that!?!?!  I am really excited!  I bought a lot of cute fun things from Oriental Trading Co. for my students and my classroom.  I also bought some cute fabric to make little throw blankets to put in my reading corner...and I have some fabulous class pets for this year.  I spent Monday afternoon making their book covers--It was a lot of fun!

I am really excited for this coming year--3rd year's the charm, right?  I will be in a portable classroom this year and that is going to be DIFFERENT--but a good kind of different, I think.  I will have control over the ac and heat in my own room--no shelves and cupboards and no water, but I think I'll be able to make do--I think it will be a fun adventure.  As I get more stuff finished, I'll post it on here too...maybe a picture of my new classroom too--hmm....

Here are pictures of the class pet book covers I made on Monday--they really were fun to make and yes--it did take me all afternoon, but it was fun!

Dreams come true...

When I was in Young Women's and learning how to drive, an older woman in my ward teased my friends and I about taking her for a ride in a fancy red sports car.  We would all laugh and tease her back, but we didn't ever do anything to make that come true--I think one time we gave her a red sports car--a toy one that is--but other than that...it kind of slipped through time, like a lot of things you say when you are younger.

Well, I decided that I would do it--I borrowed a shiny red Dodge Charger from a local car dealership and I took her out to lunch today!  We had such a fun time!  She is near 90--and such a cute older woman--she's always been like another grandma to me.  We had such a good time, we just might do it again--though not with the Dodge Charger--but maybe that'll be okay.

Here's a picture of us with our "Hot Ride"!
